We're baaaaack!

Well, we are back from our whirlwind trip through Wyoming and Colorado and finally settled back into "normal" life. Well, normal for us. And there were a few pictures from before we left that I hadn't posted yet. Morgan had a lot going on in the first weeks of September, but she has done great with all of the new transitions and activities.
One of said activities is dance/ tumbling class. Oh, it was so cute and fun and she was a little shy with it (probably because I was trying to snap pictures and watching her the whole time). Skylar, on the other hand, was loving it. She is not a terrific listener yet (she is only 21 months so I cut her a little slack), but for the most part she was very interested in what the older girls were doing and definately wanted to be a part of it.

Morgan loved pretty much every part of "interpretive" dance, as I called it. She was a little less interested in the instruction. Just wanted to look at the floor to ceiling mirrors as she twirled and hopped around in her new leotard.

And this was a "first day of school" picture. It wasn't really the first day of school. I think sometimes when I make a huge deal of something then my children sort of wonder if this is something they should be freaking out about, so I didn't take any pictures of them on the first day. We just acted as if she waited her whole life to do something this cool and the day had finally come. It was like a huge milestone. And I didn't really want to make her feel like it was. And I think I must have done a pretty good job becasue she hasn't cried yet. She loves her teacher, loves her school and loves all the fun stuff they get to do there.

I will say that Skylar is not liking it. When we went to the open house at school Skylar got to come because we had no sitter and we had no other choice. Well, I am pretty sure she was thinking it was a tryout and if she did a really good job and listened really well and did everything the teacher told her too then she could go again and stay too. She was so cute. She got in line with all the other kids and cleaned up toys with all the other kids and sat on her carpet square for story time with everyone else. And when she didn't get to stay the next day with everyone else she pretty much thought mommy was a big loser. She will someday see how cool it is hanging with mommy for some one-on-one, but for now all she does it ask where Miss Sheri and Morgan are.

A visit from the Tutus

We had a visit from my mom and step-dad Dick over the long Labor Day weekend! It was such a treat to get to spend a few days with them and show them more of Bozeman (I must say I was feeling very far from home and a little homesick). The girls call them the Tutu's and they enjoyed every second with them-waking them up early to running around in the back yard playing football with them. We also took them up to Palisade Falls and did a short hike with them. The weather was great the whole time they were here.

We saw a little girl coming down the trail as we were headed up and she had found herself a little walking stick, so we found one for both Morgan and Skylar and they both enjoyed walking much much more. And so did I considering I didn't have to push 70+ pounds up the mountain!

Skylar loved her walking stick too! She's my little explorer!

We stopped to take a short little rest (and play in the dirt).

Morgan and her Tutu...

Thanks Tutu's for coming up to visit us. We had a blast!
